Sony history

Sony is a multinational company, headquartered in Minato(Tokyo) and one of the world's leading manufacturers in consumer electronics,for example, audio, video, computation, photography, mobile telephony, games and professional products.

Now I am going to talk about the history of this company in general.

In Septembre 1945,Masaru Ibuka returned to tokyo,that he had been destroyed by bombing during the Second World War.The third floor of the department store of the Shirokiya, it was the new Ibuka's factory. At first the factory repaired radios and other machines.

In 1958,the company decided to start using the brand SONY.

The origin of the name SONY is the result of the combination of several concepts:one is the latin word 'sonus' meaning sound.Another word was 'sonny boy' describing a person with free and vanguard spirit.

Now,I am going to list the major successes of this company:

-In 1958 Sony continues to innovate in the transistor radio,presenting the smallest receiver in the world and the first receiver transistor two bands.

-In 1960 Sony developed the first transistorized receiver.

 Then, in 1961, the fisrt transistorized recorder.

-In 1965 Sony present the first domestic video recorder and a  condenser microphone transistorized.

-In 1968 presents the first color television.

-In 1972 Sony develops and presents the first video projector for large screens.

-In 1980 develops and presents the new recording format digital audio(CD).The same year launched the first camcorder(camera and integrated recorder)

-In 1994 launched the first console developed by Sony(PlayStation),it was a success.

-In 2010 Sony designed the first 3D television.

-In 2012 Sony Mobile becomes the third company with more sales of mobile phones in the world.
